Google is celebrating its 18th birthday. Google is a digital giant and it celebrates its birthday on different dates. In 2004 it celebrated its birthday on 26th September and in 2015 on 25 September.
Today on 27th September it is celebrating its birthday with new animated doodle that is shown to web browsers across the world . Doodle is a spontaneous changes that are made in Google logo for celebrating holidays which is designed by Gerben Steenks on the homepage.
Google register its domain on 15 September 1997 . It will be 19 years on the same date. Google finally fixed it on 27th September. Now Google is an adult officially. From 2006 Google is celebrating its birthday on 27th September But last year it celebrated its birthday on September 26. Even the google it self did not know that when it was formed.
6th Google birthday doodle went online on 7th September in 2004 and in previous year itwent online on 8th September. All these dates did not seem to have any particular relevance. Google incorporation date is 1998 that is mentioned in the company’s own history .
The idea for Google began in 1996 which was a research project at Stanford University. Page and Brin Had a new Idea for a search engine that rank pages by how many other sites linked to it. Earlier search engines were ranking the pages by how how often the search term appeared on the page.
In 2013 Google has alluded to confusion over its birthday and also admitted that it celebrated its birthday on different dates. But now they will stuck to 27th September. This date may be selected by the company because the first birthday Doodle used in 2002. Every year Google celebrates its birthday with a Doodle since 2002. The Company splited under new corporate umbrella, Alphabet last year which hived off more outlandish divisions of the Google company such as its robotics subsidiary Boston Dynamics and driver less cars unit.
Google is one of the world’s most powerful company. It is second only to Apple in value with $541bn (£417bn) of market capitalisation . Also Page and Brin on Forbes list of the richest people in the world are ranked 12th and 13th. With their net worth of $35.2bn and $34.4bn.
